All military units have weapons, issued according to the TO&E --the table of organization and equipment which specifies who gets what.

Our three main weapons were:

 

The M3A1 .45 cal submachine gun.

Detective special

The .38 cal. revolver with a two inch barrel. These were either the Colt Agent or the Colt Detective Special. (The only difference being the 16oz weight of the ... , compared to the other's 14oz weight.) They were normally loaded with only five rounds -- the sixth chamber under the hammer remained empty for safety reasons.
